Bring your background tasks to the forefront
Detect idle cron jobs, background tasks and more
Cron jobs can fail silently and cause damage to your infrastructure and/or website. By having
Idlemon monitor your cron jobs, it can alert you if a cron job or something else is not active.
A monitor can be anything from a cron job that needs to run every hour to a user registration form where you get an
alert if no one has signed up in the last 24 hours.
Monitors are defined in your application, and it tells Idlemon every time a task, job or event has taken place. This
information is then used for you to define
alerts when those tasks, jobs or events haven't occurred in a period of time.
Background task insights
Get insights into your cron jobs by adding meta data when sending Idlemon activity information about your cron jobs or other monitors.
It could be the amount of processed entities in a processing cron job, or maybe an error occurs in the cron job without causing the job to fail silently.
Idlemon lets you see this meta data and even sends you notifications if it exceeds the threshold you define.
Monitor everything (almost)
You may have a website with a few cron jobs, a nightly job that is very important, a periodic snapshot uploaded to an S3 bucket, or something completely different.
Idlemon is able to keep track of all these things. Set up monitors with our in-depth documentation and tell us how often these things are supposed to occur, and Idlemon takes care of the rest, letting you know if something goes wrong while providing you with insightful graphs in the meantime.
Some of the things Idlemon monitors with ease:
- Cron jobs
- Background services
- S3 object events (Coming soon)
Notifications
When something goes wrong it is important to know right away and on the right device, that is why Idlemon supports multiple notification services.
